Our House

In summer our guest house is the ideal starting point from simple hikes to challenging mountain tours in the beautiful Zillertal mountains. The Zillertal Cycle Path is the perfect tour for families with children. Surrounding water reservoirs and natural swimming lakes are also a highlight of the Zillertal.

In just a few minutes you can reach popular destinations such as the large leisure park with open air bath and mini golf course, the summer toboggan run Arena Coaster and the newly built spruce castle in the Zillertal Arena. People are also attracted to the Fichtensee, which offers the finest water fun with floating jetties, boat rentals, indulgence niches and a low-water area.

Our guest house is also very easy to reach in winter. The streets are cleared daily if necessary. Our free ski bus takes you to the middle or valley station of the "Zillertal Arena", the largest ski area in the Zillertal, in just 8 minutes! The bus stop is only a few meters from the house away.

All the surrounding ski areas such as Hochzillertal, Kaltenbach, Ahorn, Penken or the 7km long illuminated toboggan run in Hainzenberg can be reached from us in just 15 minutes. Our heated ski room with ski boot dryer is available for your skis and ski boots

Why "Gatterland"?


Before 1960, the houses and farms of the Gerlosberg could only be reached via a narrow footpath. The properties of various owners were separated by a gate (Gatter). Back then, the footpath led through the building parcel of our house, where there were two gates.That's why our ancestors called this place GATTERLAND. Hence it was an obvious choice for us to use the name Gatterland pay tribute to its old history. Parts of this path still exist today, where you can now admire beautiful, handcrafted wood crosses there.

Many things are new ...

Recently we renovated, newly built and lovingly furnished our homes


Just in time for the start of the winter season, the renovation work at Haus Gatterland was completed. The Apart Bergluft of our daughter, built directly next door, has also been completed in December 2017. Our apartments have been modernised, but still, have the original flair. Our masterpiece is the Chalet Zirbe, which we have completely rebuilt and renovated. The high ceilings make this apartment a very special holiday experience. In addition, we have designed a private garden adjacent to the apartment. With a cozy lounge, sun loungers and parasols, no wishes remain unfulfilled. But not only inside the house, a lot has happened. Our exterior also literally radiates a new light. The handmade wooden balconies, as well as the whole wood surfaces, were sandblasted and now look like new again. We worked with a lot of diligence and commitment and are pleased to present you the result.

  • We booked on short notice and ..... everything was just amazing! Very nice location above Zell am Ziller. Especially nice host (owner), of which you can also get tips for trips and events. Beautiful clean apartment at a reasonable price. The breakfast room is really worth seeing/experiencing and even more beautiful than on the pictures. We had the apartment with covered terrace, where one can enjoy the great panorama even when it rains . We will definitely book again for our next holiday in the Zillertal.
  • We were very pleased with the accommodations and the nice host and will book our next snowboarding holiday back there. Directly in front of the house there was parking and there was also fresh breakfast every morning. For breakfast you had a choice of different types of bread with toppings (sausage , cheese, jam), cereal, yogurt and Co. Furthermore, there was a small fridge for guests in the communal kitchen, where you could store purchased food. There also had the possibility to cook your own food. For ski and snowboard equipment and footwear, there was a separate room for drying .
  • We were a group of 12 people (11 adults + 1 child) and we stayed at the Haus Gatterland during Easter break. We were all totally thrilled by the charming home. The rooms are large, very clean and well heated. The owners were friendly and gave us information at any time. A thank you to Mrs. Rahm for the super bread service. We spent a beautiful, great week there. We all were completely satisfied and can truly recommend it to anyone.
  • The host is very friendly and very accommodating. They took good care of us and even served fresh bread every morning. We walked 50 yards to the free ski bus stop and the ski area is very beautiful with lots of blue and red runs.
  • We felt very comfortable and taken care of. The small Apartment is nicely decorated and functional. The special advantage is the central location of the apartment in the Zillertal and of course the nice care by family Rahm. We would love to come again.
  • The house is located just outside of Zell on a hill side with very nice views. Good breakfast. Fridge and cooking facilities in the breakfast room. Very nice and helpful owner who always has advice for the daily activity program. Gladly again.
